10/10The Palazzo
Center-north Strip, with direct access to the Grand Canal Shops6 min read
The base room is a suite that feels like an apartment, and the pools are some of the best on the Strip. Five stars.
Best for: Anyone who wants a spacious suite-style base room and easy access to a huge pool complex without splurging on a top suite.

I booked a standard room at the Palazzo to show you around, and the surprise here is that the base room is actually a suite. As I walked in, everything was clean, tidy, and smelt fresh, and the first thing I noticed was the bed in its own separate area.
Then there is a step down into a lounge area with a desk and a table. It all feels very spacious, almost like an apartment you are staying in rather than a hotel room, and that ended up being my favorite part of the whole stay.
What I liked
- The base room is a suite with a separate bed section, a lounge area, a desk, a big couch, and multiple TVs, so it feels spacious like an apartment
- The pools are some of the best on the Strip. Seven pools on the Palazzo side plus a walkway to four more on the Venetian side, with hot tubs
- Nice bathroom with two sinks, a giant mirror, a standing shower, a tub, a separate toilet room, and a little TV in the corner
- Center-north location with direct access to the Grand Canal Shops and walking distance to the Fashion Show Mall and the Forum Shops
What to know
- The casino floor is fairly small and they have crammed a lot in, so the slots are packed tightly together
- There is no sports book on the Palazzo side, you have to go over to the Venetian
- The poker room is shared with the Venetian and sits in the Grand Canal Shops, so you have to go over there to play
The room
I was on the 27th floor and they gave me a strip view without me even asking. I could see the Fashion Show Mall, Treasure Island, the mountain ranges, and the pool right down below, which I really liked.
The base room being a suite is the thing that sold me. Bed section with a TV, a lounge area, a desk, a table, a big couch, and multiple TVs. There is lots of space and you do not feel confined, which really adds to the relaxation of a place like this.
Pools, food, and location
The pool areas are some of the best on the Strip in my opinion. Seven pools on the Palazzo side, a walkway over to four more on the Venetian side, and a bunch of hot tubs. If you want a pool spot, you cannot go wrong with the Palazzo or the Venetian.
For dinner I went to Hong Kong Cafe on property and ordered the beef pho. It only took about five minutes and it was actually really good, very tasty and very filling. The location is center-north, not quite center, not quite north, with the Grand Canal Shops right through the hotel.
David's tip
Remember the base room here is a suite, so even the standard booking gets you a separate bed area, a real lounge, and multiple TVs. For the price of a normal room you get apartment-style space, which makes a longer stay a lot more comfortable.

Cheap bed on the Strip for around 80 dollars all in, but the room gets musty and there is not much to do. Three stars.

A budget pyramid with a great theme and a comfy bed. I give it a 3.5 and would pick it over the Excalibur any day.

Center Strip, great pools, and a fair price when you catch it. A solid 4.5 out of 5 for me.
