6/10Harrah's
Center Strip, across from the Forum Shops and beside the LINQ Promenade6 min read
A cheap center-Strip base camp, but the room is tiny and there is not much to do on property. Three stars for me.
Best for: A low-roller or budget traveler who just wants a center-Strip place to sleep and plans to spend the day out on the Strip.

I booked a basic king at Harrah's so I could walk you through the whole property. First thing I do is check the view, and on the 50th floor I was honestly surprised. I was mostly looking at the top of a roof and the back of the Harrah's sign, with the mountains way off in the distance. The windows are short too, I was taller than the window.
No weird smell when I walked in, which is a plus, but the room felt very tiny right away. Here is the honest version of what you are paying for.
What I liked
- The location is the best thing it has going. It is center Strip, across from the Forum Shops, beside the LINQ Promenade, and walking distance to the Bellagio fountains
- No weird smells in the room when I walked in
- A good spot for low-stakes gambling, with table minimums of 5, 10, even 15 dollars
- Right next to one of the cheapest places to eat on the Strip, the In-N-Out on the LINQ Promenade
What to know
- The room is just tiny. King bed, but not a lot of space to move, and a really small bathroom with the toilet jammed right by the door
- Weak view even on the 50th floor, with short windows I was taller than
- Small pools and not a huge slot selection, so there is not much to see or do on property
The room
I was on the 50th floor and the view was a letdown. I expected something nicer that high up, but I was looking at a roof and the back of the sign, with the mountains in the distance. The windows are short enough that I stood taller than them.
The bathroom might take the cake for small. Single sink, the toilet right up against the door, and a very small standing shower. It gets the job done and it is clean, but it is about as basic as it gets.
The pool and the casino
There are two pools. The main one goes to about three and a half feet and there is a really shallow one at about ten inches deep. Lots of cabanas to rent but not many regular lounge chairs, and not much shade, so keep that in mind. Hours are 9 to 5.
The casino floor is not that big. Basic sportsbook, a smaller slot selection, but a fair amount of table games with low minimums. If you are a low gambler who does not want to bet 50 or 100 a hand, this is one of the spots on the Strip for that.
What I paid
I paid 119 dollars plus taxes and fees, which came out to nearly 200 dollars. I am not sure I would pay that for this place again. There are usually Caesars promotions where you can get in for like 19, 20, or 30 bucks, and honestly that is more in line with this property.
David's tip
Do not pay rack rate here. Watch for the Caesars promotions that get you in for 20 or 30 bucks, which is much more in line with what this room is worth. And if you want to save money on food, skip the property restaurants and walk to the In-N-Out on the LINQ Promenade. I got two burgers and fries for 14 dollars.

Frequently asked
How much does a room at Harrah's cost?
I paid 119 dollars a night plus taxes and fees, nearly 200 all in. That felt like too much for this room. There are usually Caesars promotions that get you in for 20 or 30 bucks, which is more in line with the property.
Is Harrah's a good location?
Yes, that is its strongest point. It is dead center Strip, across from the Forum Shops, beside the LINQ Promenade, and walking distance to the Bellagio fountains. A good cheap base camp if you plan to be out exploring.

Cheap bed on the Strip for around 80 dollars all in, but the room gets musty and there is not much to do. Three stars.

A budget pyramid with a great theme and a comfy bed. I give it a 3.5 and would pick it over the Excalibur any day.

Center Strip, great pools, and a fair price when you catch it. A solid 4.5 out of 5 for me.
