7/10Treasure Island (TI)
On the cusp of center and north Strip, near the Fashion Show Mall and the Forum Shops6 min read
A clean, decent-sized room in a great location, and a steal when you catch the promo. I give it a 3.5.
Best for: An older crowd or anyone who wants a solid central-ish room and a quiet island-feel pool, not a young party scene.

This was my first time staying at Treasure Island and I booked the most basic room to walk you through the property. I checked the view first and was actually impressed. I was on the seventh floor in a standard king, did not ask for anything special, and got a combination pool and Strip view.
It smelled clean when I walked in, everything looked clean, and the room size was fairly big for a basic king. First impressions were good. Here is the honest version of what you are getting.
What I liked
- Clean room, no weird smells, and a fairly big size for a basic king
- Good location on the cusp of center and north Strip, walking distance to the Forum Shops and the Fashion Show Mall right across the street
- The bathroom has a tub, which a lot of places do not, nice for a soak after a long day of walking
- Slot-heavy casino with low table minimums, I saw 10 and 15 dollar tables and 3 to 2 blackjack
What to know
- Only one pool and it is fairly small, so it is more for sunbathers than swimmers
- Not a ton of restaurants and not a lot to do on the property itself
- It is an older crowd, not a young party or nightlife scene
The room
Seventh floor, standard king, and the view was a nice surprise. A little bit of the pool and the Strip both, more than I expected without asking for it. The room itself was a good size and clean, maybe a touch of dust, but we are in the desert and that just happens.
The bathroom is a classic one with a nice big vanity and some marble that plays into the pirate theme. The big plus is it has a tub, which a lot of Vegas rooms skip, so you can soak after a long day of walking.
The pool, casino, and food
There is only one pool and it is fairly small, but it makes up for it with copious palm trees so it feels like a little island. Lots of lawn chairs and people sunbathing, so if you like being by the pool more than in it you will be fine here.
The casino is modest but slot-heavy, with 10 and 15 dollar tables and 3 to 2 blackjack. For food I ate at the pho place on property and the bowl was huge and delicious, came out in about three minutes, and I ate the whole thing. The Fashion Show Mall across the street has dozens more options with a pedestrian bridge to get there.
What I paid
I originally booked the room around 120 dollars, with resort fees and taxes it was going to be about 180. I checked back about two weeks later and they had a promo where you could get in for 30 dollars if you were okay with it being non-refundable. I knew I was coming, so I booked it and ended up at about 90 dollars all in. A great price to get in here for.
David's tip
Prices fluctuate a lot, so be diligent and check back on your dates. I originally had this around 180 all in, then a promo dropped it to about 90 all in for a non-refundable booking. If you know for sure you are coming, the non-refundable rate can save you a ton.

Frequently asked
How much does a room at Treasure Island cost?
I originally booked around 120 dollars, about 180 all in with fees and taxes. Then a promo let me rebook for 30 dollars non-refundable, which came to about 90 all in. Prices fluctuate, so check back on your dates.
What kind of crowd does Treasure Island have?
It is an older crowd, not a young party or nightlife spot. If you are older you might rate it higher, if you are younger looking for that scene you might rate it lower. I landed on a 3.5.

Budget7/10The STRAT
Far north end of the Strip, the most northern hotel on the Strip
A basic, slightly dated room saved by an incredible observation deck and a 99-dollar all-in deal. I give it a 3.5.

Center Strip, across from the Forum Shops and beside the LINQ Promenade
A cheap center-Strip base camp, but the room is tiny and there is not much to do on property. Three stars for me.

Cheap bed on the Strip for around 80 dollars all in, but the room gets musty and there is not much to do. Three stars.
