10/10The Venetian
Center Strip, walking distance to the Forum Shops and Fashion Show Mall7 min read
A newly renovated suite, top-tier pools, and a price that felt like a steal. Five stars from me.
Best for: Anyone who wants a spacious suite, a serious pool day, and a center-Strip location with shopping right on property.

I booked one of the newly renovated suites at the Venetian so I could walk you through the whole place. The second I opened the door, no weird smells, it smelt very clean, and the first thing you see is the big bed and the TV. Then you step down into a little lounge living area with a nice big comfy couch.
There are actually two TVs in the suite, which is handy if you want to watch one thing and someone else wants another. I had nothing bad to say about this room, and after a night here the rest of the property backed that up.
What I liked
- Newly renovated suite with real space, a separate lounge area, two TVs, and a gorgeous bathroom with a tub, standing shower, double sinks, and the toilet in its own room
- The pools are top three on the Strip for me. Four pools on the Venetian side plus a walkway to seven more on the Plaza side, and the garden pool stays open until 10pm
- Center Strip location, walking distance to the Forum Shops, with the Grand Canal Shops and Fashion Show Mall right there
- Strip-facing view from the 12th floor looking out at Harrah's, Caesars Palace, the Rio in the distance, and the whole mountain range
What to know
- The strip view looks straight at the old Mirage being torn apart and the Hard Rock construction going in, so it is a building site for now
- Resort fees and taxes stack on top of the room rate
- The poker room is shared with the Palazzo and sits over in the Grand Canal Shops, so you have to go there to play
The room and the view
I was on the 12th floor in a renovated suite with a strip-facing view. The windows are huge and the view is spectacular, even with the Mirage teardown and the Hard Rock construction right out front. That glass guitar will look cool once it is done.
The bathroom is gorgeous. Standing shower, a good-size tub, double sinks, mirrors everywhere, a separate vanity, and the toilet in its own room. All the gold trim and fixtures just elevate it. I genuinely could not say anything bad about this suite.
Pools, food, and the casino
The pools impressed me. The smaller garden pool has two little pools and two hot tubs with lush greenery and stays open until 10pm, which is unheard of on the Strip. The main area has four pools plus a walkway to seven more on the Plaza side, and it is chill with the music kept at a decent level.
I ate at Noodle Asia on property and got the Sichuan beef soup, marked as one of the most popular items. Big chunks of beef, very rich, very flavorful, and very spicy. The casino has plenty of table games with minimums I saw at 15, 25, and 50, slots everywhere, and a sports book.
What I paid
I paid 199 dollars to get in, and with taxes and fees it came out to about 290 all in. For a place like this with a newly renovated suite, I think that is a steal. I could actually stay here multiple days and not mind paying that.
David's tip
If you want a pool day on the Strip, the Venetian is one of the best picks. The garden pool runs until 10pm and you can walk over to the Plaza side for even more, so you get way more pool time than most hotels give you.

Cheap bed on the Strip for around 80 dollars all in, but the room gets musty and there is not much to do. Three stars.

A budget pyramid with a great theme and a comfy bed. I give it a 3.5 and would pick it over the Excalibur any day.

Center Strip, great pools, and a fair price when you catch it. A solid 4.5 out of 5 for me.
