10/10Encore
North end of the Strip, a little farther north than the Wynn, across from Resorts World6 min read
Some of the best beds on the Strip and great service. Five stars, you really cannot go wrong here or at the Wynn.
Best for: Anyone who cares about a great night of sleep and wants a nice, lively north-Strip property shared with the Wynn.

I checked into the Encore and tried the 20 dollar trick at the front desk to see if I could get an upgrade. I was checking in really early, 9:30 a.m. on a Sunday, so there was nothing available for what I booked, but she found me a strip view room on a high floor and personally called me when it was ready.
I have stayed at nearly 20 hotels on the Strip now, so here is the honest version of what staying at the Encore is like.
What I liked
- One of the nicest beds on the Strip, I hit the mattress and I am almost out instantly and do not wake up through the night
- My room had a strip view on the 14th floor with the pools below, the Sphere off to the left, and a view of the Wynn
- The layout splits the bedroom and a lounge area with a wall, which is nice if you have people over
- Great service, and you can use either the Encore or the Wynn pools since they share the property
What to know
- The pools include a European style 21 plus pool where women can go topless, so it is not for everyone
- A lot of the restaurants are actually on the Wynn side, so you end up walking over there to eat
- Smaller casino floor than the Wynn, with more table games and fewer slots
The room
First impressions were great, everything was clean, tidy, and smelled fresh. The bed is the standout. If a good night of sleep matters to you, this is one of the best places you can stay on the Strip, hands down.
The bathroom has a classic look with double sinks and a big mirror, a tub and shower, a separate toilet room, and a small TV about 13 inches off to the side of the mirror.
The property and food
Encore is a bit farther north than the Wynn but still walkable to the Fashion Show Mall and the Grand Canal Shops, and right across from Resorts World. There is a show called Awakening, and the free Lake of Dreams runs on the Wynn side.
Most of the dining is on the Wynn side, so I ate at Charlie's and got the Charlie burger, a double patty. It looked a little small at first but the double patties made it filling, and the pickle was almost bigger than the burger.
David's tip
If you are deciding between the Wynn and the Encore, you really cannot go wrong with either. Come to the Encore for the bed especially, it is one of the best on the Strip and you can use both properties' pools.

Frequently asked
Does the 20 dollar trick work at the Encore?
I tried it checking in early at 9:30 a.m. on a Sunday. There was nothing available for the room I booked, but the front desk found me a strip view room on a high floor and personally called me when it was ready, so it worked out.
Is the bed at the Encore actually that good?
It is one of the nicest beds on the Strip in my opinion, after staying at nearly 20 Vegas hotels. I hit the mattress and I am almost out instantly and do not wake up through the night.

Cheap bed on the Strip for around 80 dollars all in, but the room gets musty and there is not much to do. Three stars.

A budget pyramid with a great theme and a comfy bed. I give it a 3.5 and would pick it over the Excalibur any day.

Center Strip, great pools, and a fair price when you catch it. A solid 4.5 out of 5 for me.
