8/10Caesars Palace
Central Strip, right beside the Bellagio6 min read
A lively central-Strip spot with great pools and a rocky check-in, but they fixed it. Four stars.
Best for: Anyone who catches a Caesars deal and wants a central, lively location with top pools and the Forum Shops on site.

I booked the most basic room I could at Caesars Palace to show you around the property. As I walked in there were no offensive smells, which I always check for, so that was a plus. The room was clean and tidy, just a little small.
The catch was I booked a king and got two double beds, and nobody mentioned it at check-in, so I had to go back down to the front desk. That was a rough start, but I withheld judgment until the end, and they ended up making it right.
What I liked
- Caesars is in the running for the top pools on the Strip. Seven pools with a varying degree of heat, from cold to much warmer, so you can pick your temperature
- Central Strip location right beside the Bellagio, so you can walk north or south and you are close to the fountains
- The Forum Shops are stunning, with Roman-themed architecture and the free Fall of Atlantis animatronic show running hourly
- Lively, bumping atmosphere with a good crowd, a nightclub, and a strong sports book on the casino floor
What to know
- I booked a king and got two double beds with no heads-up, so check-in customer service started off as a thumbs down
- The basic room is small. The bathroom is small enough that I could touch the ceiling easily, with just a standup shower
- There is no poker room, they closed it down about a year ago, and one of the seven pools was closed for the season in April
The room and check-in
I was on the 11th floor. It is technically a strip view since I could see the Strip and the Flamingo across the street, but there are panels on the side that make it feel enclosed, so I planned to keep the blinds closed. The room is fine, clean and tidy, just small and stylish.
The bed mix-up soured the start. I booked a king, got two doubles, and had to sort it at the desk. To their credit, Caesars corrected it and gave me a food comp for the mistake, so I did not hold it against them in the end.
Pools, food, and the area
The pools are a highlight. Seven of them with different heat levels, though one was closed for the season. I like the cold plunge so I jumped in the cold one. The Forum Shops architecture is even better than the hotel's, and the free Fall of Atlantis show is worth catching.
For dinner I kept it casual at Bobby's Burgers in the celebrity food hall and got the crunch burger with potato chips in it, plus fries and onion rings. It was solid but basically slightly elevated fast food and a bit pricey, about 52 dollars for two burgers and three sides.
What I paid
Caesars often runs deals and they had one going, so I booked in for about 40 dollars and change, and with fees and taxes my total was around 100 dollars. For a central-Strip room beside the Bellagio, that is not bad at all.
David's tip
Watch for the Caesars deals. I got in for about 40 dollars and change, roughly 100 all in with fees, which is a great rate for a central-Strip spot beside the Bellagio. And if your room is not what you booked, go to the desk, they made it right and even comped me food.

Frequently asked
How much does a room at Caesars Palace cost?
They run deals often. I caught one and booked in for about 40 dollars and change, roughly 100 dollars all in with fees and taxes. For a central-Strip room that is a good price.
Does Caesars Palace have a poker room?
No. They closed the poker room about a year ago, so if you want to play poker this is not the spot. They still have a strong sports book, lots of table games, and plenty of slots.

Cheap bed on the Strip for around 80 dollars all in, but the room gets musty and there is not much to do. Three stars.

A budget pyramid with a great theme and a comfy bed. I give it a 3.5 and would pick it over the Excalibur any day.

Center Strip, at the fountains
Center Strip, great pools, and a fair price when you catch it. A solid 4.5 out of 5 for me.
