9/10Bellagio
Center Strip, at the fountains7 min read
Center Strip, great pools, and a fair price when you catch it. A solid 4.5 out of 5 for me.
Best for: A first Vegas trip, or anyone who wants the classic center-Strip experience and a great pool without paying true five-star money.

I booked a basic king at the Bellagio so I could walk you through the whole property, and it got off to a good start the second I opened the door. No weird smell, clean room, and more space than you expect from a standard king. There was a table and chairs, a lounge and coffee table, and still plenty of room around the bed.
Bellagio is one of the most popular hotels on the Strip, and after a night here I get why. Here is the honest version of what you are paying for.
What I liked
- One of the best locations on the Strip: dead center, the fountains right out front, and a free tram down to Park MGM
- The pools are some of the best in town. Five pools, four hot tubs, a big space so you are not on top of people, and free lawn chairs you do not have to pay for
- Clean room with no weird smell and a lot more space than a standard king usually gives you
- Lively casino floor with a good mix of old and young, table minimums around 25 and 50 dollars
What to know
- It is one of the busiest hotels on the Strip. On a Sunday night there were hordes of people, partly because tourists pour in for the conservatory and fountains too
- Resort fees and taxes stack on top of the room rate
- It is a really nice property, but it did not quite feel five-star to me
The room
I was on the 15th floor in a basic king and the view actually impressed me. I had almost a full pool view and could see the mountain range in the distance, which is not bad at all for a standard room.
The bathroom is nice. A little small, but you get a long walk-in shower behind glass and a double sink with double mirrors. First impression as I walked in was the thing that stuck with me though: it smelled clean, and the room had real space to it.
The pools, the conservatory, and the fountains
The pools are a highlight. Five total, two big ones and three smaller, plus four hot tubs across a large space, and crucially there are plenty of free lawn chairs to sit on. Some places give you almost nowhere to sit unless you pay, so this stood out.
Then you have the free stuff people travel for: the Conservatory, which changes by season, and the fountains out front. Watch the fountains at night, the show is far better than in the daytime.
What I paid
I paid 159 dollars plus taxes and fees, which came out to about 222 all in. For a center-Strip room at a place like the Bellagio, I think that is a pretty good deal. The rates here can climb on busy weekends, so the move is to book when the price is reasonable.
David's tip
Prices here swing a lot. I got a standard king for about 222 dollars all in and thought that was a great deal for center Strip. Watch the rate, book when it dips, and you are getting one of the best locations in town for mid-tier money.

Cheap bed on the Strip for around 80 dollars all in, but the room gets musty and there is not much to do. Three stars.

A budget pyramid with a great theme and a comfy bed. I give it a 3.5 and would pick it over the Excalibur any day.
