Best Comedy Clubs in Las Vegas for Stand-Up

6 min read

There is a difference between a comedy show and a comedy club, and Vegas blurs it on purpose. A club has a rotating lineup, a real booker, road-tested headliners, and the loose late-night energy you want. A show is one act locked into a marquee for a decade.

This post is about the clubs. The rooms where the act changes every week and you can roll the dice on a name you have never heard and walk out a fan. Here are the ones I trust.

01

Brad Garrett's Comedy Club at the MGM Grand

The best curated room in town. Garrett books the lineup personally, which keeps the quality bar high week to week. You get touring headliners, strong feature acts, and a proper host instead of filler.

The room seats a few hundred and the sightlines are good almost everywhere. This is my top pick for a serious stand-up night. Check the weekly lineup online before you book so you know who is headlining.

02

The Improv at Harrah's

The Improv brand carries weight for a reason. The booking is national-touring quality, the schedule runs most nights, and the prices stay reasonable. This is the dependable club night where you almost cannot go wrong.

My favorite thing about this room is that the comics are road veterans, so the sets are tight and there is no dead air. Go without checking the lineup and trust the booking. It rarely lets you down.

03

L.A. Comedy Club at the Strat

Off the center Strip and cheaper for it, the L.A. Comedy Club runs multiple shows a night with a mix of touring acts and themed nights. The talent is more hit or miss than the MGM and Harrah's rooms, but the value is real and the vibe is loose.

This is where I send people staying on the north end who do not want to taxi down to the center. Pick a named headliner night over the generic showcase slots and you will do fine.

04

Jimmy Kimmel's Comedy Club at The Linq

A big, polished room right on the Linq Promenade with a strong booking pipeline and an easy walk to bars before and after. The location is the selling point. You can build a whole night around it without a car.

The lineup leans toward recognizable touring names and the occasional surprise drop-in. It is a touch pricier than the L.A. Comedy Club but the room and the location justify it.

05

How to Pick a Night

Late shows are looser and bluer than early shows, and the comics tend to swing harder after the first crowd clears out. If you want the rowdier set, book the late slot.

Always book a named headliner over a generic showcase. And sit a few rows back unless you want to be part of the act. Front-row comedy club seats are a contract you did not read.

Quick answers

Frequently asked

Which Vegas comedy club is best for serious stand-up fans?

Brad Garrett's at the MGM Grand. The personal curation keeps the quality high, and the room is built for comedy rather than converted from a banquet hall.

Do I need to book ahead?

For weekend headliners and any well-known drop-in, yes. Weeknight showcase slots usually have walk-up availability, but the good seats go first.
