XS Nightclub at Wynn Closes for Renovation

XS opened on December 31, 2008 inside Encore, built in partnership with nightlife veteran Victor Drai, and quickly became one of the anchor clubs of the Strip's electronic dance music boom. Wynn Resorts has described the coming changes only as significant enhancements and has not detailed exactly what is being rebuilt, according to Vital Vegas.

The Tower Suite Bar elsewhere at Wynn is also closed for its own renovation, targeting an October 31, 2026 reopening, so this is part of a broader refresh across the property rather than an isolated club closure.

The revenue numbers explain why this club matters to Wynn's bottom line. XS pulled in more than $80 million in 2012 and more than $90 million in 2013, with reported million dollar nights during peak stretches, and it has carried exclusive residencies from Tiesto, David Guetta, and deadmau5 over the years.

CDC Gaming, which also covered the closure, noted the club has hosted headliners including Diplo, Marshmello, and The Chainsmokers, the kind of booking list that turned XS into a genuine tourist draw rather than just a hotel amenity.

Wynn is steering guests to its other nightlife spots while XS is dark, including Encore Beach Club at Night, the Aft Cocktail Deck, Overlook, Parasol, B Bar, and the Encore lobby bar. None of those match XS for scale, but they cover the gap if you already have a Wynn stay booked.

If a night at XS specifically was the plan, that is off the table until the reopening. Everything else about a Wynn or Encore stay, the rooms, the pool, the rest of the casino floor, continues as normal during the renovation.

If you are booking a Wynn trip for later this year hoping to hit XS, hold off and check the reopening date closer to your travel window, Wynn has only committed to New Year's Eve as a target so far. A trip built around the anniversary reopening itself could be worth planning once a firm date and any opening party details are confirmed.

For everyone else, this does not change the case for staying at Wynn or Encore, the resort's rooms, dining, and other nightlife options are all still running while one club gets rebuilt.
