Treasure Island Joins Accor's Handwritten Collection

Tuesday, August 4, 2026·4 min read

The 2,884-room Strip resort is now Accor's largest hotel worldwide and its first Las Vegas property, first reported by Travel Market Report and Hotel Business.

Treasure Island has officially joined Accor's Handwritten Collection this week, making the 2,884-room Strip resort the largest single hotel in Accor's entire global network and the French hospitality giant's first property in Las Vegas. Travel Market Report and Hotel Business both confirmed the rebrand went live, more than a year after the franchise deal was first signed in July 2025.

If you've stayed at TI before, don't expect the building to feel different. Owner Phil Ruffin keeps the property, Accor's Handwritten Collection is a franchise and loyalty tie-up, not a takeover, and the pirate ship theming out front isn't going anywhere.

Treasure Island opened in 1993 as one of the Mirage-era pirate-themed resorts, and Phil Ruffin has owned it independently since buying it from MGM Mirage in 2009. That ownership history is why this deal reads as a branding and distribution partnership rather than a sale, Ruffin isn't handing over the keys, he's plugging his hotel into a bigger booking network.

What Actually Changes for Guests

The headline change is loyalty access. Treasure Island now plugs into Accor's ALL loyalty program, which counts more than 100 million members worldwide, giving Accor loyalists a Strip property to book points toward for the first time. Beyond that, Travel Market Report reports the resort keeps its identity, including the Sirens' Cove pirate ships out front and the long-running Cirque du Soleil show Mystere inside.

The one concrete addition on the calendar is new dining. Travel Market Report says Treasure Island is adding Mexican and Italian restaurants in 2027, the first real facility update tied to the Accor partnership since the resort opened in 1993.

Why Accor Picked This Property

Handwritten Collection is Accor's soft brand for what it calls charming, character-driven hotels, and it launched in 2023. Treasure Island becomes only its second property in the U.S., after Hotel Stratford in San Francisco, and its debut on the Strip marks Accor's first foothold in Las Vegas at all, a market the company had not cracked despite operating hotels in more than a hundred countries.

For Accor, a 2,884-room resort instantly becomes its single largest hotel anywhere, a scale play that gets the brand a marquee Strip address without building anything new.

Handwritten Collection has grown fast since its 2023 launch, with more than 25 hotels open worldwide and dozens more in the pipeline, mostly boutique and midscale properties rather than mega-resorts. A 2,884-room Strip casino resort is an outlier for the brand in scale, which is likely part of why Accor is calling it the collection's marquee addition.

Should This Change Where You Book

If you already carry ALL Accor status from stays elsewhere, this is the first time you can use it on the Strip, and that alone is worth checking before your next trip. If you don't carry Accor status, the practical experience at TI, the casino floor, the pool, Mystere, the location at the north end of the Strip near Fashion Show mall and Wynn, stays the same as it always has.

Hold off if the new Mexican and Italian restaurants are what would pull you toward TI specifically. They aren't open yet, and no date beyond 2027 has been set.

My bottom line

Treasure Island officially joined Accor's Handwritten Collection this week, becoming Accor's largest hotel worldwide and its first Las Vegas property. The building, casino and Mystere stay the same, the real changes are ALL Accor loyalty access now and new Mexican and Italian restaurants coming in 2027.
