Things to Do in Las Vegas in the Morning
6 min read
Most people sleep through the best hours in Vegas. The morning is when the Strip is calm, the heat has not arrived, and you can actually move without elbowing through a crowd.
I am a morning person in this city on purpose. Here is exactly how to use those hours, whether you are hungover, awake early, or just smart.
Walk the Strip before the crowds
From roughly 7 to 10am the Strip is a different place. Cool air, soft light, and sidewalks you can actually walk down.
Do the stretch from Bellagio to the Venetian on foot. The Conservatory at Bellagio opens early and is empty. The Venetian canals are peaceful before the gondolas fill up.
This is the best time for photos with no strangers in the background, and the only comfortable time to walk outside from late spring through early fall.
Eat a serious breakfast
Vegas does breakfast and brunch extremely well. My go-to picks: the Egg Slut and casual counters in the food halls, or a proper sit-down.
For a splurge, the bottomless brunch scene is strong. For a classic, hit a diner-style spot or a hotel coffee shop where the portions are huge and the prices are sane.
Pro move: a lot of these get a long wait by 10am, so an 8am breakfast means no line and a calm start.
Hit the spa or pool early
Morning is prime spa time. The big resort spas at Aria, Wynn, and the Cosmopolitan are quietest before noon, and a day pass to the thermal facilities is one of the best non-gambling buys in Vegas.
Pools open in the morning too, and the deck chairs are wide open before the dayclub crowd shows up. If you want to actually swim and relax rather than party, this is your window.
Catch a morning tour or excursion
Most day trips and tours leave early, and for good reason. The light is better and the heat is bearable.
Red Rock Canyon is 20 minutes from the Strip and stunning at sunrise, before the rock heats up. Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam tours almost all depart in the morning.
If you have any interest in getting off the Strip, the morning is when it happens. Book the night before.
Gamble when the floor is empty
Here is a quiet secret. Table minimums are often lower in the morning, and the floor is calm.
You can find a 10 or 15 dollar blackjack table at hours when the same table costs 25 at night. Dealers are friendlier, the pace is relaxed, and the free coffee keeps coming.
If you came to gamble and want your bankroll to last, morning sessions are underrated.

Frequently asked
Is there anything actually open early in Vegas?
Yes. Casinos never close, coffee shops and breakfast spots open early, spas open around 8 or 9, and the Strip attractions like the Bellagio Conservatory open in the morning. The city is more awake than people assume.
What is the best morning activity in summer?
Anything outside, done before 10am. Red Rock Canyon, a Strip walk, or a tour. After that the heat makes outdoor mornings rough, so front-load them.
When do the Bellagio Fountains start in the morning?
The fountains typically run on a less frequent schedule in the morning compared to afternoon and night. The Conservatory, though, is open and quiet early, which is the real morning win.
