Michael Jackson ONE Review and Ticket Guide

6 min read

Michael Jackson ONE is the Cirque show for people who think they do not like Cirque shows. It is loud, it is a dance party, and it is built entirely around Michael Jackson's music with a sound system that turns the whole theater into a concert.

I have seen it twice and both times the crowd left buzzing in a way the more meditative Cirque shows do not produce. Here is my honest review, who it is for, and exactly which seats to grab at Mandalay Bay.

01

What ONE Actually Is

ONE is a Cirque-meets-concert hybrid. You get acrobatics, dance, and aerial work, but the spine of the show is MJ's catalog played through one of the best theater sound systems in Vegas, with seats that literally have speakers built into them.

The choreography is the star. The dancing is sharp and the tribute to Jackson's signature moves is done with real respect and skill. The acrobatic and aerial pieces are woven into the numbers rather than standing alone.

Tone is high energy and celebratory. This is not a sit-quietly show. People sing along, people stand up for the finale. It is the most fun, least reverent Cirque experience on the Strip.

02

Is It Worth It?

ONE is priced in the middle of the Cirque range, below O and KA, generally in Mystere territory. For the energy you get, that is a strong value.

If you love Michael Jackson's music even a little, this is an easy yes. The song selection hits the big ones and the live-concert feel makes it more than a tribute act.

If you are indifferent to MJ and want pure acrobatic spectacle, this might not be your top pick. The circus elements are excellent but secondary to the music. Choose based on whether you want a show or a party. This is a party.

03

Best Seats At ONE

Center is best for the projections and the full-stage dance numbers, which use the whole width. Aim for center sections, and because of the immersive sound, you do not need to be in the very front.

Mid-orchestra center is the sweet spot. You get the seat speakers, a full view of the choreography, and you are close enough to feel the energy without craning at the projections above.

The theater at Mandalay Bay is well designed, so even mezzanine seats are solid and the sound carries everywhere. If premium center is out of budget, a center mezzanine seat is a great fallback. Avoid extreme side seats, they cut into the projection sightlines.

How To Buy And When To Go

Book direct through Cirque or Mandalay Bay. ONE appears on discount booths more often than the top-tier shows, so if you are flexible it is worth a check, though good center seats rarely show up there.

It is at Mandalay Bay, which is the far south end of the Strip. Factor in travel time, it is not near the central cluster of casinos.

Runtime is about 90 minutes, no intermission. Go in ready to have fun. This is the rare Vegas show where being a little hyped up beforehand makes it better, not worse.

Great pick for a group or a slightly older crowd that wants to dance. Pair it with a late dinner at Mandalay Bay and you have your night sorted.

Quick answers

Frequently asked

Is Michael Jackson ONE a concert or a Cirque show?

Both. It is a Cirque production with acrobatics and dance built around MJ's music played through a concert-grade sound system. It feels more like a show-concert hybrid than a traditional circus.

Is ONE family-friendly?

Mostly yes. It is loud and energetic, recommended age around five and up. Kids who like music and dancing enjoy it, though it is more of an adult party vibe than Mystere.

How much are Michael Jackson ONE tickets?

Mid-tier for Cirque, below O and KA and around the Mystere range. Premium center seats cost more but the seat speakers and energy make mid-orchestra worth it.
