Mulberry Street Pizzeria Closing at Resorts World

Thursday, August 20, 2026·4 min read

The Strip slice shop closes in mid-September after its lease was not renewed, first reported by Casino.org's Vital Vegas column and picked up by TicketNews.

Resorts World is losing another restaurant out of The District, its Strip-facing dining and retail promenade. Mulberry Street Pizzeria, the New York style slice shop from Beverly Hills institution Richie Palmer, is closing in mid-September after nearly five years on the property, first reported by Casino.org's Vital Vegas column and picked up by TicketNews.

I have grabbed a slice there more than once walking that side of Resorts World, mostly because it is one of the few spots on that stretch where you can eat standing up without committing to a full sit-down check. If you have a trip planned before mid-September, that window is closing fast.

What's Closing, and Why

Mulberry Street opened at Resorts World on September 28, 2021, its first location outside California alongside the original Beverly Hills spot plus locations in Encino and Sherman Oaks. Founder Richie Palmer, a Bronx native, built the brand in Beverly Hills in 1991 and later opened the Vegas location with co-founder Cathy Moriarty, the Oscar nominated actress. His wife is Raquel Welch. The Vegas spot leaned into that pedigree hard, right down to a Mike Tyson statue near the entrance.

According to Vital Vegas, Mulberry's five year lease at Resorts World simply was not renewed. No public reason has been given beyond that, but the timing lines up with a broader pattern at the property.

Part of a Bigger Shakeup in The District

Mulberry is not the first sign of trouble in The District. Vital Vegas reports that the food hall next door, Famous Foods Street Eats, has reportedly been running at a loss for years, and that two other third party tenants, sports bar RedTail and Nashville style bar Dawghouse, are said to be at risk as well. Mulberry was even required to close on Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting in 2023 so foot traffic would spread to other restaurants in the promenade.

Put together, it reads like Resorts World is pulling dining in-house instead of leasing to outside operators, whether that is about margins or about tidying the property up ahead of a possible sale. Resorts World has not confirmed a reason publicly. A new pizza concept is reportedly planned for the space once Mulberry clears out, though nothing has been announced yet.

What This Means If You're Planning a Trip

If a Mulberry Street slice was on your list, get there before mid-September. The restaurant is expected to keep normal hours until closing, though Resorts World has not given an exact final date. After that, expect the space to sit dark for a stretch, the same as what tends to happen elsewhere on the Strip when a lease ends before a replacement is locked in.

Mulberry is not disappearing from Las Vegas, just from Resorts World. The Beverly Hills, Encino, and Sherman Oaks locations are unaffected. But if you were counting on a Strip side slice on your next trip, keep a backup plan for after September, since it is not clear yet what replaces it or when.

My bottom line

Mulberry Street Pizzeria closes at Resorts World in mid-September after its five year lease was not renewed, part of a wider push to pull third party dining out of The District, according to Vital Vegas. No replacement has been named yet. Get your slice before mid-September, and do not build a Strip dinner plan around that spot until Resorts World confirms what is moving in.
